Default How to make cutter discs for a food processor?

Hi

I want to make my own disc for a foodprocessor. I could buy another
model, where the dics, I am looking for, is standard, but for a number
of reasons, I want to make them myselve. The foodprocessor is a
Kenwood FP110. A similar model can be seen he

The disc, I want to make is 1). A shredding disc, 2) a french fry
cutter disc and 3) a julienne cutter disc. Such disc made for other
foodprocessors can be seen he

Is there anyone here, who would like to give me advice and tips about
how to make such disc myself? Which tools, materials and work
processes do I need? Can it be made with a small number of inexpensive
tools? Or do I need a professioal workshop or even a factory?

Sorry Peter, but making those cutter disk does NOT sound like a good
first project for a newbie. The fact that you even had to ask the
question confirms that.

You would undoubtedly have to spend far more money on the machinery,
small tools and materials than it would cost you to buy a whole bunch of
new food processors which already have the disks you are looking for.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to become a DIY guy, it's
commendable, and G_d knows it's often the best way to get a lot of
things made or fixed in today's world of disappearing "hands on" folks.

But, just as in learning how to ride a bicycle or making love, you've
got to start out slow and with something simple. G

There is a good reason why those discs are not available for your
machine. It doesn't have the power to run them.
The unit you are using for reference to your machine is 300 watts, the
machines that you are using for the example cutters are 1300 watts. BIG
difference.

That said making those discs requires machines that you won't have in a
home shop.

Upgrade to the Kenwood 350 and larger, they have the horsepower to run what
you want.

If you absolutely have to try it--no matter what anybody says:

Find some discs from something else that are the right diameter and see if
you
can change out the drive hub to fit your machine. Hit the second hand
stores
and flea markets---there were/are a LOT of things that use those discs. The
old hand crank Mouli came in at least 2 sizes, and you can buy them with a
full
set of discs for almost nothing.
