Pictures of the Y axis readout
http://igor.chudov.com/projects/Clau...-Axis-Readout/
If anyone wants to question why the reading head goes along the scale and not at 90 degrees, the answer is that I already had the scale the way it is. I wish that it had a more cross-slide-friendly orientation, but alas, it did not. But it still works fine. -- Due to extreme spam originating from Google Groups, and their inattention to spammers, I and many others block all articles originating from Google Groups.
