Default FS -- 5 HP single phase Compressor in Lisle, IL

For sale is a 80 gallon, 5 HP, single phase, horizontal compressor. It
has a two stage pump by Champion, model RE-20. That's the compressor
that I bought from someone who could not figure out how to wire and
fix the single phase motor that was on it.

The motor is Baldor 1750 RPM, 5 HP, 220v, 25 amps.

The motor has new bearings (6206Z from McMaster, not cheapest junk)
and new starting caps. I also installed a new brand name 3.5" 200 PSI,
gauge, and a new 5 HP rated Furnas pressure switch.

With all this stuff, pressure switch and gauge and all, this
compressor has all you need to start using it.

The compressor is set to start pumping at about 90 PSI, and cuts out
at 120 PSI. It is very quiet due to slow (600 RPM) speed of the pump.

The tank is fully airtight and keeps pressure very well (as in, no
discernible loss of pressure over 24 hours).

Also included are a 3/4" Apollo valve on the output, and a
filter/regulator with 1/4" NPT opening.

The Rec.Crafts.Metalworking price special is $300, local pickup in
Lisle, IL, only, cash only.

Some pictures (not including the Apollo valve and regulator) are here

If it's two stage, it should be going up to more like 175 PSI.

Yes, it is two stage.

The regulator is settable, so whoever buys it, could change it. I
decided to use the lowest setting that still made sense, out of
conservatism.

Unless the extra storage capacity gained by running up to 175 psi is
needed, it makes more sense to run at the lower pressure. Easier on
the pump and less wasteful of energy.

Said very precisely and correctly. Safer and more efficient and lasts
longer at lower PSI.

If you don't need 175psi, it's just wasting energy to pump it that high
then regulate it down. Bob
