One man shop? Never hire?

So you're actually a contractor?

What local is it that allows the contractor to join
the union as a working member?

SCAB!!!!!

Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional,
illogical liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an
unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the
proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Scary thought. shudder

That's s-o-o-o typical of these impotent union lackies.

They want the world to march in lockstep to the beat of the union drums in
order to line their own pockets, but want to be excepted from it all when
it comes to their own interests and pocketbooks.

Like an onion, the layers surrounding Millwright Wrong are being peeled
back......and it is revealing few secrets.

Union IS as union DOES.

I don't think it's because people are disagreeing with him. It's more likely
being called things like "impotent union lacky," as asterisk just did in the
preceding message. In earlier messages, there was "slug," "fool,"
"communist," "greedy," and a few other all-purpose epithets.

The usual stuff we see here when people get frustrated and blow their tops.
Then there's the guy who says, "duh...whaddya mean, hate monger?" You've
just brought up the rear and completed the cycle.

Ha-ha! Asterisk, you must be the biggest hypocrite we've seen here for many
moons. A typical two-face, you spew *your* venom, finally provoking him into
tossing it back, and then accuse the other guy of it.

Enough, asterisk, or this is going to get really unpleasant. Ron did nothing
to justify your crap but now you've provoked him into a mud-slinging
contest. Nobody likes to see those.

I dunno, Ed:

Ron shows up, spews unsolicited off-topic spam for his website and
union, apropos nothing, and has yet to put in any useful metalworking
content. He's like Cliff, only under a different name, and with a
website to spam. Asterisk, like Cliff, is a useless blowhard troll who's
already in my killfile, which is where Ron and his useless blowhard spam
will be heading shortly. He's spamming his crap in the blacksmithing
group as well, and has nothing on-topic to contribute there either. I
sincerely doubt he's even capable of using a forge correctly; just seems
to think it's another place to spread his unwanted, unasked for, and
unwelcome spam around.

In the Trades we call this an Old Man. I made one years ago out of
pipe. Two sections of pipe and a coupler. Weld a hook on one end of
the pipe. Make a sleeve that will slide over the pipe. Weld a metal
saddle to the sleeve. The saddle is made to fit over the handle of the
drill that you use. This allows you to plum the drill using the
saddle, which is welded to the sleeve. The sleeve will be able to
slide
along the pipe. Using a small chain attached one end to the hook and
dead head the other end around a solid anchor point. I made each pipe
sections 24 inches longs. This allows it to fit in one of tool boxes.
You can make them any length that works for your needs. This old man
will give you all the down pressure that you need to drill holes in
difficult areas and helps with the drilling of multiple holes. I hope
that this will help.

That's not the case.

He "showed up" in reaction to some attacks on unions and union workers that
was already getting pretty smelly with prejudice larded with put-downs, and
he defended his life-long position. The union discussion had already
degenerated into slinging mud with nobody to sling it back.

At first he was pretty reasonable but obviously passionate. Then as asterisk
and a few other volk started piling on, laying on the "impotent union lacky"
wisecracks, and "slug," "fool," "communist," "greedy," and so on, he got
****ed and started throwing it back. But I just sorted the messages he's
posted and there's no doubt who started the sneers, and that he's been
reacting, not instigating.

Pretty mildly, I'd say. If asterisk started that with me, the flame throwers
would be in full chat.

You must mean yourself Mike as this is the person you
know best. You really don't know a thing about him but
have developed a habit over the years of spewing invective
at anyone and thing you disagree with, never learning the
art of discussion either as a child or during your working
life. How sad.

You might try reasoned discussion. It grows on you.

Donald Duck, sputtering in one of his patented tantrums, so their
bitterness causes me to laugh which is good for MY health.

And "this" is NOT "bitter venom?" LOL

But they say if you can honestly look inside yourself you
may find the things you say you hate the most about
others are actually the traits you hate most ...about yourself.

Sounds like it may fit in this case.

Beg your pardon here Ecnerwal but have you bothered to
look at Ron's web site?? I am almost certain you started
your rant without bothering to do so. This site is LOADED
with information almost any user of this group can appreciate.

How does this compare to the political ranting of Cliff?

Anyone else bringing this much information (or web based
content) to the group would get a pat on the back. Try
divesting yourself of some predjudice and try again.

Go look at the site and then come back and apologize.

And this comment from the person I would nominate as
"Mr. King Bitter." How funny (if it wasn't so sad).

If it makes you happy, go for it.

No wonder. No one outside a union would hire a pile of crap, like
you.

Whatever. I've seen you spew a lot of crap so does this apply to
you, as well?

BTW, I had no problem finding work, until my health failed. I've
even walked in to places that weren't hiring, and got a job.

Which, I'm sure, makes you right in everything you say or do, and
therefore everyone who doesn't agree with you deserves your con-
tempt and derision? Sorry, but bad logic. Sorry about your health,
though; no one needs that.

Whatever. I've seen you spew a lot of crap so does this apply

Sorry you don't like my "crap" (as opposed to your
"Flowers of Wisdom" which you bestow on others.
I will admit I reply in like kind so others can under-
stand what I say "In their own language", as it were;
my failure, so sorry.

Try easing-up on others, it may help you feel better.
