I sold a Myford ML7...
A couple years back I sold a ML7 to a guy in Victoria BC, after he contacted me on my mention that I had one for sale. That would be sometime after about 2001-2003 time frame, several computers ago. The short of it is that a set of jaws (outside gripping, 3 jaw) for one of the Burnerd chucks found its way to me, and I know what Burnerd wants for them. That gives me reason to beleive that they should go to the chuck they belong to. I know that they do not mate with the chucks I have. In any case, as I have no other likely method of contact, I figured that this may be worth a shot. If you read this, send me an email with the serial number of the 3 jaw chuck and your address and I'll mail them out to you. Cheers Trevor Jones |

Trevor...I am impressed.
Lesser men would have put them on Ebay without trying to contact the rightful owner. Treat yourself to a favorite beverage on me....;) TMT |

I think, anyway. Having bought at auction a Brand New, still full of packing grease, Pratt-Burnerd GripTru that fit my Myford and finding out on delivery that the handlers had separated off the grease paper wrapped package containing the outside jaws whilst reorganising the table... Sigh Some farmer got himself a matched set of 3 useless-to-him matched, ground, and hardened chuck jaws as part of a pile of mostly useless junk that he probably paid about 5 bucks for.deep! sigh And P-B is VERY proud of their replacement parts. So much so that Myford stopped sourcing there. (Note, if "you" are out there in Saskatchewan, and have a set of small chuck jaws, last three digits of the serial number 666, I'd like to hear from you) In any case, they were passed to me from the guy I got one of my lathes from, via a mutual friend, and it seems right that they find the chuck they are matched to. I'm pretty certain he was mainly a lurker here, and he replied by email directly. I think I will have to root out the remnants of my 486 in the garage and see if the emails are still buried there. Cheers Trevor Jones So, I found my old computer, ripped out the drive, hooked it up to my current box.... Boots OK, I go rooting about, come up with a name and an email addy.Remove old HD, all seems well. Two and a half hours, and a reinstall of win98 later, I have my box running again. Dunno what happened but something did. Anyway. The guy's name is Jim Pike and the email address is no good (was a @home.com address). I googled for him on groups and may have found him, we'll see if I got the right guy and if he still has the lathe. Cheers Trevor Jones |
