If you need to find the center of a hole mounted in a lathe try this. Put a piece of tape over the hole. Draw circles with a pencil mounted like a drill. When the circles become small then a single point you have found the center. Remove the tape. You are on center. Also works for pipe and tubing. You can also just make a bunch of pencil marks at approximately right angles on the face of the part. Spin it up and a black dot shows the center. ERS |
