Info on Fray Type 4 All Angle mill Back Gear
I have a Fray All Angle mill that has had the back gear replaced with just a
pair of 4 step pulleys. Obviously this limits the speeds available to the vertical spindle. Also the horizontal gear box has been stripped and 'jury-rigged' with a couple gears and a chain sprocket arrangement. I have found some information on Tony Griffiths web site but the manual he is offering for about $50 is only 22 pages and he hasn't told me if it covers anything more than general operating instructions. To restore any of the gear problems, I need something that includes some exploded views and gear ratios. If anyone has a Fray that still has the original gears or a manual or parts book, I would sure appreciate some info. I'm not afraid to tackle this restoration or resurrection but a few sketches or pictures would sure help. Thanks for any help. Steve |
