Default O.T. quick way to hang xmas lights

the kids finally talked scrooge into decorating the eaves with lights , long
story short after fighting with all the assorted types of hardware for
hanging lights
and not wanting to put in nails or cup hooks , I happened across a large box
of metal binder clips that was laying around , went like butter from there
the clips spaced every two feet clip onto the edge of the shingles on the
gables and right on the front edge of the gutters , and the best thing is I
can just pull
them down come January ,

Gee, Bill, I was expecting to hear that you had mounted your tree on
your rotary table, hooked that up to a table feed, and.....

there was a temptation to go to the garage and make some custom hangers from
filler wire with the little diacro bender I have , but I stumbled across the
box of binder clips and that was pretty simple and appealing so I went with
it

I use zip ties - the lights are on the porch.

"Pax Americana is a philosophy. Hardly an empire.
Making sure other people play nice and dont kill each other (and us)
off in job lots is hardly empire building, particularly when you give
them self determination under "play nice" rules.

Think of it as having your older brother knock the **** out of you
for torturing the cat." Gunner

I lined the beams of my deck roof with white Christmas lights and left
them up all the time. Gave a great glow to the deck, with not a bit of
glare or going blind if you happen to look at a bulb. When it's dark
outside and you've had too much to drink, it's even nicer. I'd say that
it's a romantic glow, but I'm married...

I use nails but you have to use really small ones now days because those
modern bulbs are so small.
