Anyone need Harley Exhaust pipes
I was helping a machine tool dealer close down his business over the
last couple weeks (Dimension Tooling, Santa Ana, California) and wound up with a couple trailer loads of Stuff Amongst the odds and ends are about 6 sets of new, or nearly new what appear to be stock Harley Davidson motorcycle exhaust pipes. All appear to be in excellent condition, with little if any rust, and only a small bit of blue. Id assume these were factory pipes removed for replacement with customs Anyone have any interest in the whole lot of em? If they dont fit a BMW R90/6..I dont have any use for em. Id consider a trade for a couple sets for a set of mufflers FOR an R90/6 btw... you might be sitting on a lot of money if they're original hd, and off
a pan or shovel head model. |

Owe 'em money? Maybe you could gift them and help yourself out. I knew you were full of ****. Calling me names and then not knowing what to do with Harley parts. Ye. You knew a biker once. Want to run with the big dogs? Keep it up and Ill treat you like one of the guys. And it might hurt your feelings Maam. I rode with a club in 1974...and decided that the folks were too crazy for me to ride with. Id not been out of Letterman Hospital too long when I went back to Michigan, and visited an army buddy who was a member of this particular club. He sponsored me in. Shrug. The dudes were animals. The women were worse. Mean drunks, mainlining junkies and speed freaks. I didnt mind the "excitement" or the occasonal gun fight..but it was the idea I might wind up in the graybar hotel that tended to put me off a bit. I managed to be somewhere else during the robberies and whatnot..but even though I was something of an adrenaline junky...when they told me to run a couple keys of heroin into Fort Wayne..I decided that they were a bit much for me...and I very quietly pitched my tent, left my colors behind and bailed. It was a fun year..but...I didnt make two tours in SEA to get killed by a junky, or by one of Sonny's soldiers in a turf dispute, or wind up doing hard time in Jackson State Prison. Now Maam, feel free to hold just about any stupid opinon you care to. Based on some of your previous ones..Id expect more of the same from you. And it looks like I got another one. As for calling you names...I dont remember calling you Bitch. Did I? Im usually much more polite about keeping those sorts of opinions to myself, particularly in regards to females. As to who I rode with..ever heard the name Lennie Braund? I recall hearing he came to a bad end in a bank robbery or some such. He was president at the time. As for Harley parts..its been years since Ive been on one of those pieces of ****. I prefered Trumpets, though did own a 54 panhead once. It was a year younger than me, springer front, pill seat, suicide shift, hard tail, medium ape hangers. ****ed with my kidneys bad on Michigan roads. It had a sissy bar with crossed bayonets..removable and sharp ,which came in handy once. Shrug. I sold it not long after I left the club..didnt need the hassle I got from the cops, and bought another Bonneville with the cash. I sold it a couple years later when I got married and was traveling with an oil and gas exploration crew. Too hard to drag it along. Shrug. Rode Hondas off and on, for some time after that...then went to BMWs and never looked back. Ive long lost the need to be a noise and shine biker. No need to have an entire wardrobe with HD logos to prove something to weekend bikers. Nor do I have any need for a "lifestyle" based on **** motorcycles and fad. In fact..Ive not had my scooter on the road in at least 4 yrs. Its way over due to be started again..been more than 6 months since I blew out the bugs in the jugs. Thanks for reminding me. Ill probably have to rebuild the Bings pretty soon..they dont like sitting for years. I do still have a 61 Indian sitting in my dads garage in Michigan. It is really a Royal Enfield..but sold badged as an Indian. If I could figure out how to get it out here to California, I might clean it up, get rid of the slugs in the tubes, find an original seat and tank, and restore the old girl. I swapped a Duc Diana for it. Im not sure who screwed who... Dad rode my M20 for a few years then layed it down on a gravel road, then sold it before the scabs came off. Damit. Now if you have something to constructive to say Maam..have at it. If not..just remember you claimed to have kill filed me a year ago..so go ahead and actually do it instead of shooting your mouth off. If I wanted to listen to a woman bitch and whine, Id talk to my ex. Dont you have some nagahyde and fringe to Armorall? Perhaps paste wax that custom paint work on your tank? Btw....this may be of use to you... http://www.ratbike.org/motorcycho/outlawname.php lol Shiva "Mike Patterson" wrote in message .. . Gunner,
Having read what you posted, I got to say good for you getting out of that trap. Seen some friends go too far down that one way road. It seems alot of those folks really miss the point about what riding is all about, they want to claim freedom when all they are is a walking billboard. Most of them are a bad as some of the fundamentalist x-ians in their turn their nose up in the air attitude towards someone who rides something other than a hawg. I think it will be real funny if Cali. gets rid of the helmet law and all those people who bought their 25K + cookie cutter choppers and $700 leather jackets from the harley clothing store at the mall... you know the corporate laywer types who have been keeping this fad going.. who else can afford it? Has to sell them because their wife won't let them ride without a helmet and the image they want to project will no longer include a helmet...lol yep, good to hear you got out, we send a lot of HD machined parts to the local prision to be polished, cheap source of labor... those guys live for polishing those parts.. becuase it's the closest they get to being "In The Wind" for the next 10 to 20. |

Gunner,
You've got a beemer and haven't been riding it? Shame on you :-o If it hadn't been for motorcycling I'd never have gotten into metalworking. .... wrote: Gunner, You've got a beemer and haven't been riding it? Shame on you :-o Sigh..yeah..I know. After my second back surgery..I had a lot of problems riding. Id be crippled up for an hour or more after getting off the VF700 or most bikes. So I sold it to one of the local lawyers. A couple months later one of the phone co. guys I ran with called me up and asked me if I wanted a Boxer...cheap. So I went to look at it. It was a father/son project..they had taken it apart to clean up, repaint yada yada..and had never gotten around to putting it back together. All neatly labled in 4 large boxes. So I gave the guy $600 on a Wed afternoon, and Saturday I rode it over to Bakersfield. And my back felt Great! It had 35,000 on the odo when I got it..and it now has 187,000 miles on it, I rode 90 miles everyday to and from work for well over 5 yrs, plus poker runs, etc etc... But when I started doing the machine tool repair thing, being on the road 5 days a week..I had too many honey dos on the weekends to ride..so Trudy got covered up, and pushed into a corner. There is an early 74 Honda XL 350 next to her that I started turning into a desert hunting bike..that Ive ridden exactly 4 miles on also. No time, and since the recession and the ex leaving me broke etc etc.little money. But Ill get to em sooner or later. damnit. Wayne D. I wonder how much it would cost...hummm THANKS!! My sister is a serious biker, lots of charity runs, her boyfriend is a shriner biker, from what I understand one of the bigwigs, rides in the parades..does the formation riding etc..out of Oak Park, Michigan, so I guess it tends to run in the family. As far as your poor R90, do it a favor, take out the plugs and give each jug a shot of oil, turn it over a few times so all the valves are closed, and put the plugs back in. I've had to help several folks recently with pistons siezed up tight in the bores, from sitting. Not pretty. The Bing CV carbs respond very favorably to some TLC. Just buy a gasket kit from Capitol Cycle and also a new set of diaphragms.
