I just saw a TV ad for this place. For a membership fee starting at $25
a month, you get to use their machines. Woodworking and metal. Lathe,
mill, bandsaws, welders, plasma cutters. It just started (March) and I
wish them lick. Bob

Sounds like an interesting idea but I wonder if it will work. Many
years ago when I lived in an apartment I took a woodworking class to
have access to some tools. Nothing was worst than standing in line to
use the one table saw. No I was wrong, watching people use a table saw
for the first time was lots worst.

I wish them plenty of lick too.

[It's hard to believe the $25 a month would pay for the insurance on a
scheme like this, not to mention TV ads. Better get your licks in before the
first person cuts something off...]

What insurance? Just a basic commercial policy for the business overall.
The membership thing has a liability waiver, you're on your own
insurance or no insurance.

Since they require you to attend and pass a "boot camp" emphasizing
safety before you can work on your own and the liability waiver, they
should be reasonably safe from lawsuits as long as they maintain the
equipment with all of the manufacturers safety items in place and
intact.
