any help appreciated
gladly pay for printed material

as is the previous owner removed all wiring from the engine

I have got it turning over but no spark

It is on its way.

The link works if you are a member.

Go to smokstak.com for onan specific suggestions. A very helpful site,
it helped me a lot when I was repairing my own onan (DJE
diesel). check ebay sales of user n2gravely, he may have your manual.

Nice to see you giving back Ig.
Ya sure learn a lot here.
BTW - my Onan diesel is now history. Seems that the deck it was sitting on
gave up the fight during a winter storm (while I was enjoying life in
Honduras).
I came home to the sight of said engine lying on its side in the mud (on top
of my 15 HP Johnson outboard - long story). No amount of (reasonable)
repairs will bring this one back from 'the dead'.
I now have a parts bin 'O' Onan stuff - including (but not limited to) all
internal parts (crankshaft, pistons, fuel pump, yadada). I also have a
(new-in-the-box - shopworn but unused) starter motor for said Onan diesel
(and this item is not cheap!!!).
Should you (or anyone reading this) have need of the above mentioned cache
of parts.............
I am not looking to make a (big - I am on a fixed income) profit here - I
just want this metal off the claim and into hands of those that can use it..
Email your request (the Spammotel addy is valid) and for the cost of
ahipping and handling (I live on an island so things get weird here) I will
let all (or part) of this gear go. Trade for stuff may be acceptable.
ALSO - I have a 20 KVH 550/600Volt 3 phase alternater!! (was attached to
the Onan) that is surplus to my operation.
This is a brushless alternator that 'boots' to spec (3 phase! 60 cycle @
1800 RPM) with a 12 Volt DC excitation.
Last time it was used it performed flawlessly and there is no reason to
believe it is not in the same condition now.
I will go so far to as to say that I guarantee Its performance (Money back -
including shipping).

Should anyone have a need for this alternator there is a transformer that
goes with it that supplies 110/220 volts (off one leg of the alternator).
This transformer is free with the alternator but be warned - it is HEAVY
(110+ pounds)! and will be expensive to ship anywhere!
The alternator and the transformer came out of a hydro-electric power plant
near Prince Rupert and are a piece of history in their own right.
And for those who don't know, I am located on the North coast of British
Columbia, Canada, hard by the Alaskan border.
Bonus points will be given to anyone who gets off the Alaskan ferry and
offers muscle to get this stuff off my island.
Sincerely
Ken.
