I know that this is a bit off topic...
We recently bought a couple of large silk plants and were told that a
product called "Silks Alive" could be sprayed on the leaves and would
dissolve the dust. My question is how in the heck does this stuff work and
what is the proper way to use it? It says on the can to spray it on the
leaves and that is it. Do you saturate the leaves or spray it on lightly?
Sure would appreciate it if any of you could shed some light on this

I used to use a real soft baby's hair brush to dust flat leaves.
Flowers I washed in cold water and detergent, rinse cold, hang to dry.
Just dip them in, swish gently. Worked fine.

They make hair brushes for real soft babies!?!?!?!!

My sister used to work at a place that arranged and sold the Fake
flowers and plants. They tought them that spraying them with Lysol
would clean them right up. I have had a few artificial plants in my
life (none at present) and have tried this trick. I had very good
results. Don;t take my word for it though. Try it yourself. It's
probably a damn sight cheaper than that stuff you are asking about
too.

Yes Matt, even YOU can get a brush for a "not too soft baby".

I have even seen "stiff baby" Brushes. Not sure what they're for, but
I think it best we don't find out too much about them.

I googled around and saw the various methods of cleaning silk plants but
this stuff looked the simplest solution if it actually works at $3 bucks a
can. My problem is my plants are quite large including a 9 foot palm tree
and washing and dipping are kind of "off the table".

Please be more specific about using Lysol. Do you mean the kind you mix with

Simple Spary Lysol. Nothing Schmancy. Just spray it on and it appears
to dissolve dust on the plants............And it doesn't hurt that it
helps "freshen" the air a bit too.

( best guess I have about the "fresh" thing with Lysol, is that It
Numbs the Olfactory nerve)
