Default Stucco repair

It seems with all of the rain we've had in LA that a small portion of
the stucco around one of my front windows has cracked and peeled off.

It looks like some framing was created by using styrofoam around the
window and then stucco'ing over the styrofoam to make a frame. The
stucco was then painted white to contrast with the rest of the yellow
stucco.

What would be the best way to repair? Use some stucco patch and then
repaint the frame white?

Styrofoam seems like a strange material to use to create the frame.
Does this seem wierd? Maybe it is a good material because it doesn't
retain water.

Your entire house may be sheathed with foam and coated. Are you sure it is
stucco and not a similar synthetic material

There are other systems of building with concrete and foam.

I am pretty sure it is stucco, the old owner left me some old bags.
But it is definitely foam underneath. It has a sandy texture. What
would be the best way to fix?

Last week on Ask TOH they had a segment on patching stucco. I did not pay
much attention to it. Essentially, they mixed it up spread it on and let it
dry. Troweling it on to match the texture is important. I've never done it
so I don' t know any more than that.
