Sometimes a locked down secure browser won't display a page properly and I must copy the address and load it into Internet Explorer so I can view the darn site.. A clever person can do things with a few keystrokes in DOS that you
need an extra software package to do in Windoze.
There are DOS text editors can do things to a flat text file that you
pretty much cannot do in windoze unless you want to create an excel
spread sheet.

I can make a playlist by simply dragging files onto Window Media Player, no typing required.

No, I can drag folders, groups of files, whatever I like. Much much easier than typing commands.

This takes about a second and I am not dragging that media player hog
around.

It uses 1% of my CPU when running.

Some of us don't have a problem typing and how would you easily just
drag and drop files that had not been backed up, that start with the
string "Glasgow" and only include ".JPG" files?
Windows would let you sort for file name, extension or date but not
all 3.

Why type when you can just click? I'd just search for Glasgow, then sort the results by type.

But you either sort by type or date, not both.
At a certain point I will be able to type that command far faster than

spreadsheet I had was SuperCalc which came bundled with an Osborne 1
CP/M machine. I couldn't figure out a use for it. About 35 years later I
still don't have a use for a spreadsheet.

CE3 a subset of the IBM Editor that has the ability to select columns
or rows, something you can't do in windoze text editors and you can
move them around, sort them, change case, insert/delete text globally
horizontally or vertically (handy if you are manipulating lists like a
play list) and a bunch of things I never used. There is also a text
search and the ability to insert script tags (similar to HTML)
The thing I like is the global changing of a vertical column. Say you
have a long playlist pointing to D: xxxxx and you want to make it E:
or something. You just light up the column and replace that character.
You can also do the type of moving columns like a spreadsheet all in
something that runs from DOS.
