After training in Lawton, and going to other cold ass places in the

Hell, Lawton's "way back east and south"; the wind ain't near so bad
back there...

Not if yer a flatlander, when the wind blows hard Kansas?

NV has wind storms, almost like sand blasting your car.

National Weather Service Dodge City Kansas

Short term...(today and tonight)
issued at 1226 am CDT Tue Apr 3 2018

Winds continue to be the story for the short term forecast as
surface winds behind a currently moving 993 mb low will increase
through Tuesday morning and stay strong all through the day. Winds
are expected to pick up out of the north/northwest to 30-50 mph
with gusts potentially reaching 60+ mph. ...

Discussion...
....
Gusty, northerly winds are expected behind the cold front. NAM
BUFKIT forecast soundings indicate mixing to ~850-800 mb, which
should result in wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph at the surface. Some
locations in northwest Oklahoma could see wind gusts around 55 mph
based on forecast soundings.

Front arrived about 5:30AM here; peak I've monitored was 48 mph, but the
station is only about 15 ft off the ground and somewhat in lee of the
silo instead of at 10 m and an open area...
