Default Home Depot Commecial Account

Does a commercial account at Home Depot (or Lowes for that matter) afford
you a price break or is the pricing the same for commercial and regular
accounts? Thanks and sorry for this question. I'm getting some work done
and I wonder if my contractor is getting a price break from Home Depot or if
he'll be getting the materials at less than I would pay.

Depends on how much he spends in the course of a year! Most get a slight
discount not much!

I do. HD accepts Lowes coupons so I get 10% off my purchases.

Not enough if any...and why hes geting his materials there....surprises
me...since you can get better lumber cheaper elsewhere, cheaper and better
fixtures elsewhere...as long as you are a commercial account with local
supply houses...

If he's working T&M or per job, what does it matter to you? BTW, a
commercial account is just a credit account through HD, nothing more than a
gloried credit card. I wouldn't let him buy anything through HD as already
mentioned, he can get better materials through a supply house.

Nobody in Southern Ontario Canada or Western New York
gets a discount at Home Depot.

2 years ago, I ordered & bought over 200 "pot lights" at
Home Depot and didn't get a *dime* off.

I agree with the other posters. Why bye anything from Home Depot. Their lumber
sucks and you can get a better deal at your local lumber yard. And guess what
they help you load your truck
Service a long forgotten thing!

Just the other day we inquired HD about buying 2 full lifts of 2X4 All that is
required is to ring up the order and forklift the 2 lifts on to our truck. No
discount at all. Now think how much more time it would take to have a cashere
to ring up 600 2X4 to alot of differnet customers a few 2x4 at a time. Hd has
other tricks too. A carpet guy that did installs for them and other carpet
stores told me that the HD will tell there carpet mill to give them carpet X
with less fiber per sq" for a lower price and the untrained customer thinks
WOW! carpet X same color and pattern that Joes carpet sell for $ 2.00 more a
SQ. HD has the lowest price for the same stuff . WOW! Wrong!
the storage sheds we build and sell are better constructed and are a few
hundred $ less. Shop around and and make sure the apples you are comparing are
really apples.

Only thing worth buying at Home Depot is tools. And make sure you know what you
want before you go to the store cause no one there knows anything about
anything.
