LOOKS LIKE TRUMP WILL WIN NOW
Per SeaNymph:
I've heard talk they may be going for a brokered convention. Can somebody give a dumbed-down explanation of what a brokered convention is? From context, I am guessing that it is the Repub Establishment's way of getting around troublesome voter choices - as I understand the Dem's "SuperDelegates" to be. -- Pete Cresswell |

From context, I am guessing that it is the Repub Establishment's way of getting around troublesome voter choices - as I understand the Dem's "SuperDelegates" to be. From Wiki: "Once the first ballot, or vote, has occurred, and no candidate has a majority of the delegates' votes, the convention is then considered brokered; thereafter, the nomination is decided through a process of alternating political horse-trading, and additional re-votes.[1][2][3][4] In this circumstance, all regular delegates (who previously may have been pledged to a particular candidate according to rules which vary from state to state) are "released" and are able to switch their allegiance to a different candidate before the next round of balloting. It is hoped that this 'freedom' will result in a re-vote resulting in a clear majority of delegates for one candidate." In other words. It's a cluster**** where anything goes and the shenanigans payoffs and corruption are rampant. Delegates are bought and sold the RNC generally gets its way to the detriment of all citizens. -- Sir Gregory Hall, Esq. "It is my erudite opinion that a man should not mince words just to spare the sensibilities of the ignorant or the thin-skinned." |

I don't think it would be Ryan, but more likely Rubio. The establishment, old school republicans are most likely looking for a way to not nominate Trump. But for that to have a snowball's chance in hell, I think everyone would have to vote for Cruz on Super Tuesday. Then again, who knows what the heck will happen? |

I believe a lot of people are waiting for justice to be served, but with an overly liberal department of injustice, I just don't see it happening, at least not this year. The democratic establishment doesn't seem overly fond of either of their choices, but I think they might despise Clinton less than Sanders. |

She fully represents what the Democratic party became under the leadership of Bubba. The rank and file appear to have a problem with her, except for the blacks. I have to wonder about that. Sanders was marching in civil rights demonstrations while Clinton was a Goldwater Girl. Given two aged honkies I'd think they would go for the one that actually did anything to further their cause. |

Rubio cleans up well and might bring in the Cubano vote; I'm not sure about the Hispanic vote in general. Central American Hispanics tend to thing Cubans are a protect species that got the red carpet treatment. If it does turn out to be Rubio they had better take him aside for a campaign boot camp. You know that 'who do you want answering the phone at 3AM' is going to come up. |

Per SeaNymph:
Living in Minnesota, even though I wasn't here when they elected Ventura, that same comparison has been in my mind since the beginning. What is it with Minnesota? I would have thought that Minnesotans were above-average in both intellect and education. But Jesse Ventura in 1999? And then Michelle Bachmann in 2007 What gives? -- Pete Cresswell |

This is a largely liberal state, with a huge amount of taxes, that just keep going up and up. It's a beautiful place and the people are wonderful, but we'll never retire here. |
