There are several articles about a bricklaying robot that can build
a house in two days. This particular one is from Engadet.

I was picturing smaller bricks than what the machine is apparently
laying. The ones I was thinking about were maybe 3x4x6 or so.

I liked the comment "Now that's a 3D printer!".

I can't see how they could get any precision out of something
on a long boom.

They say it "slathers" the mortar.
Nothing about cleaning up the joint,
I wonder if the machine needs helpers.

Dang! You beat me to posting it. I've had a tab pulled up in my browser for a site reporting on it for a couple of days now and didn't post it. Have you seen the plans for a pair of robots that are going to print a bridge in Holland? There's so much cool stuff on the Interweb. ^_^

It's a really cool project where the bridge will be printed with metal. The video I saw looked like a wire feed mig welder on a robotic arm building the metal parts one layer at a time. The robots travel along the bridge as it's built. 8-)

They have helper robots to clean off the excess mortar.

Much easier to use illegal alien labor. Just go to home depot and take
home a few in your pickup truck.

Pay 'em $100, a few beers, and you're good to go.
