You, also, appear to be a solution in search
of a problem.

I was heading towards T2 but found out in time to get control I did cut
back on carbs and probably should do more. My grandson is T1 so I've
used his meter a few times to check. Grandson (25 yo) is skinny, active,
but has some eye problems as a result. He gets 4 shots a day too.

Dudes!

Get you blood glucose checked. T2 Diabetes is
an epidemic. 1 out of 6 of us is going to catch it.
You don't know you have it until you lose your feet, kidney's,
have a heart attack ...

T2 is caused by excess carbohydrate poisoning. (Those
that can't/won't give up their excess carbs will argue
with me over that point.)

When your blood glucose gets above 160 mg/dL, you pee
and pee and pee and ... well, you all get the point.
Did I mention you pee a lot?

If you are pee'ing more than once a night, you may
have T2. Or it could just be that old age sucks. :-)

I just checked my blood glucose level and it was 96 and I've been eating
pasta all day. I'm still urinating every 2 hours but then I take a low
dose of Lasix every morning along with a prescription potassium capsule.
Heck, I take a handful of drugs twice a day. All kind of pills
that could give me all kind of thrills if I were to overdose. ^_^

I have a lot to be thankful for too.

Heck, I'm alive and was dropped from hospice care because I wasn't dying

We'd rather see you work than be in hospice care. We need a Dufas at times.

I had a doctor damn near kill me back in 1983bi,(Before Internet) when
he prescribed a diuretic for blood pressure and I kept fading and almost
passing out. I was working hard at the time and when I do that, I sweat
like a thunderstorm. When I was wiring a panel, you could tell it had
been me working there because of the puddle on the floor and folks
thought I was wetting my pants. Anyway, it was a pharmacist who told me
I should be taking potassium. The doctor told me to eat bananas but that
would have required me to eat a couple of bunches a day to get the
needed potassium. o_O

I've heard from at least one other person that the doctor
advice was off (You're on Vicodin. if you have a headache,
just take a couple Tylenol.) I had studied some pharmacy,
enough to know that double dosing on acetaminophen (found
in Vicodin, and the ingredient in Tylenol) can be lethal.
Most pharmacist I know, are very wise and very friendly.

One email friend of mine was having trouble sleeping. His
doc wrote Ambien (R) which turned out to make a mess of his
brain during the waking hours. I don't reecomend Ambien
to anyone. I'm amazed they haven't had a class action suit
and taken that off the market.

Glad you survived to tell.

My view of things, drugs is what people take to get
stoned. Medicine is what you take to relieve medical
problems (like severe pain). We've not met in person,
but I believe you use medicine to treat medical problems.
I think that's very responsible way to live.

Docs are only about one level above drug dealers....so much bad stuff
prescribed, especially for elderly. Halcion is one truly memorable
drug...on night shift, I had patients go from unrousable to psycho on
that nasty stuff.

I only have to get up once or twice, at night.

And I'm thankful that for the last several days
I've not needed any pain pills at all.

It's much easier to complain, than be thankful.
Make that one of my resolutions, be more thankful.

I was prescribed Ambien once when I had trouble sleeping. It felt very

By then, Melatonin helped (without the side effects).

I'm a long time user of generic ambien. it's not or long term use however.
With much anxiety last fall, I depended on it. I have found less is better.
Half a 5mg tab works. The antihistamines of which there are a hundred
products using it, don't agree with me.

The best OTC sleep aid for me is gummies. Melatonin and a couple other

Hi,
You know Potassium is diuretic. Banana is good source.
Alcohol is sugar and water when broken down by your liver. You like
salty food? Bad for you. My BP is 120/70 typical.

Did you cut back on losing money at the race
track, and stop being pursued by racketeers
and bookies who want their money? I've heard
that gambling and being threatened for your
life can affect blood pressure. Not sure, up
or down or some thing.

I was given propophol to put me OUT for dental surgery. Since I am
pretty sensitive to sedative drugs (codeine puts me out easily), I made
sure to tell the nurse to start with low dose. As it turned out, the
lowest dose was enough. I got a copy of the anesthesia record to see
what I was given and check that my vital signs stayed in good range. I
don't recall the dosage, but I checked at the time to compare what MJ
had taken....he had taken twice the amount of prop. that I was given, in
addition to another strong narc. I am of the opinion that he was
addicted to drugs long before he set his hair on fire...you just can't
dance with your hair on fire and not feel it )

FWIW, no sedative or alcohol grants one a NORMAL sleep pattern; it is
not physiologically normal sleep. I had very minor surgery years ago,
and the surgeon gave me a prescription for Seconal afterward. I had no
pain or anxiety, so I tore up the prescription. That was on Monday. I
didn't sleep at all Tues, Weds. Thursday, I decided if I didn't sleep
that night, I'd call the doc for another rx. Slept Thurs. Very unusual
for me to be unable to get to sleep and that was a very strange experience.

There are times I hurt so bad but if I get out and move around like when

If I take a high enough dose of pain medication to mitigate the pain,
I can wind up unsteady on my feet which can be dangerous for me or

My view of things, drugs is what people take to get stoned.
Medicine is what you take to relieve medical problems (like severe
pain). We've not met in person, but I believe you use medicine to
treat medical problems. I think that's very responsible way to
live.

Unfortunately, too many people trust their MD's to think that way.

I have a friend who is a very good doctor and he helped me when the
Affirmative Action morons running the county hospital turned me away.
The majority of the medical personnel there were wonderful people but
the AA morons ran the hospital into the ground and it's no longer a
hospital. Intelligent, sane people were elected to the county commission
and they decided to turn in the hospital's license and convert it into a
clinic instead of a full service hospital with an emergency room. The
care for patients with serious conditions has been farmed out to other
hospitals in the area. Two of my friends died because of the dumbasses
who were running the county hospital. o_O

I'm glad something works for you. As for me, I get no
action at all from Vicodin. I know of one fellow who
gets goofy and rather enjoys Vicodin, which is fine
for him. I do get relief from some brands of Ibuprofen,
but not others. Name brand Aleve is good, but generic
naproxyn is useless.

My Dad was a SP3, and seldom swore.

I'm a long time user of generic ambien. it's not or long term use
however. With much anxiety last fall, I depended on it. I have
found less is better. Half a 5mg tab works. The antihistamines of
which there are a hundred products using it, don't agree with me.

The best OTC sleep aid for me is gummies. Melatonin and a couple
other ingredients.

Hi, If one can't sleep well, I mean deep sleep. level 2 sleep thru
the night some thing is wrong health wise. When hit the sack I am
gone in 5 mins. earthquake will have hard time waking me up. But 6:30
in the morning I am awake rested well. I've been like that since I
was kid. As far as sleeping goes(resting) I was told I am blessed.

The last time I recall waking up refreshed was in 1980. Now I can only
sleep 2 hours at a time before Mr.Bladder wakes me. If I sleep 3 hours
it's great, if 4 hours, I feel fantastic except for Mr.Bladder who is in
great distress. ^_^

Wonder if modern science can outfit you
with a larger bladder, so you can sleep
longer? Get the extended run model.

I'm surprised that a right-wing capitalist such as yourself would even consider treatment at a county hospital.

Everyone knows those are for lefty P.L.L.C.F. losers.

A couple of years ago a doc gave me Vicodin for Sciatica. She said I
wouldn't feel much, except that it would make me sleepy. It didn't do
either so after one, I threw the rest away. The 800mg Ibuprofens
worked great, though. All Ibuprofen works for me. I don't like to
take it but it does cure (not just cover) my joint pain (mild
rheumatoid arthritis).

Aspirin works great for headaches and fever but acetaminophen, of any
stripe, does nothing for me, for anything.

I looked it up and found that men's bladders are larger than those of
women. I keep track of urine output for the doctor because of the kidney
problems I have. My record is 600cc/20oz but it's an average of
300cc every two hours. When I wound up in the hospital back in July for
a sudden onset of pulmonary edema, I was catheterized in the ER and
given Lasix which caused me to fill up a lot of 3L bags. The catheter
made feel like I had to pee all the time, it was quite uncomfortable. O_o

Am going to Dr. tomorrow. A new doctor, fired the other moron. I have
trouble sleeping. I have so much pain. When I wake up, it takes about
two hours to shake out the kinks, and get moving. The farther along the
day goes, the better I feel. By bedtime, I'm ready to roll, and it's
bedtime.

Right now, I take one 1 mg. Xanax, sometimes 1.5 of them. I sometimes
sleep only four hours after that. It varies greatly. I keep 10 mg.
hydrocodones in the nightstand, and sometimes have to take one during
the night. They wanted to move me to morphine sulphate, but I decided I
didn't want to go that strong. It's getting close, tho, some days.

When I wake up in the morning, my body has stiffened up, joints swollen
again, and we start all over. I broke my back, had my sternum cut in
half and wired together again, two shoulder surgeries, one knee surgery,
and need another, and every bone and joint in my body has been over
stressed at one time or another, or sprained.

I got an Rx for Ambien once. Insurance wouldn't pay for it, so it was
like $100 for 30 of them. I took the first, and talked gibberish to my
wife at bedtime, fully awake, but not making sense at all. Had no
memory of it the next day. The next time I took one, I was at our
cabin. I got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, and
did not know where I was. I followed the wall. I found an opening, and
managed to open it. My wife stopped me just before I climbed out the
third story window opening, rocks below. I flushed them.

I have read incredible stories of people doing incredible things while
on Ambien with no recollection at all. I can relate to that.

Steve

First, that sounds miserable. I'm sorry to hear that
life is so painful for you. I agree with disposing of
the Ambien, though not in the water stream, via toilet.
Many pharmacies will take back drugs, which are presumably
incinerated. But I'd have to ask, maybe they give em
the toilet treatment. One friend of mine does a bonfire
now and again to dispose of scrap wood. I'd have to ask
him some day. I've got some meds that are expired, wonder
if he's OK with me burning them on his pile. Sure gets
hot, in the coals.

Two comedians:

Depends

Depends on what

Depends on your bladder

Depends on what?

Depends on your bladder

That's what I want to know! What about a bigger bladder?

Depends....
