What is the correct spacing for drywall screws for a wall and ceiling,
what I've found so far is 16" wall and 12" ceiling, I can't find chicago code on this and a dry Waller doing a few hundred sheets for me is about 16" on ceilings |

If using nails, then it's 8" apart on walls and 7" apart on ceilings. This all according to the 2006 IRC for one and two family residences. -- Steve Barker remove the "not" from my address to email |

Many years since I hung any for a living (teen), but consider the thickness. |

Looks like your installer needs a "do over". cheers Bob |

In Chicago you can't talk to anyone, it's all computer, you can't even schedule an inspection by phone . I spent hours and all I get is to leave a message. It's cut gov cut backs. |
