Hot Roof

Anyone every hear about a "Hot Roof" insulation? Any experience? Feedback? Without context it could mean a lot of things but a "hot roof" is where there is no free air space between the deck and the insulation. The insulation is installed directly to the bottom of the decking, rather than having the typical soffit and ridge vents (or other ventilation means). This is often done when using the spray foam insulation. I have no experience with this sort of insulation/roofing system but it's supposed to work. It seems counterintuitive to me. |
