Default Removing old grout from tile

Anyone have an easy solution for removing old grout (8 years) from tile
other than scrape and scrub?

Sorry, I was not clear. The grout is on top of the tile. The tile is
somewhat rough and in the original installation it was not cleaned
properly. It has now set for eight years.

Can't help on that one. Especially with a rough surface tile.

My first grouting came two months ago when I repaired some countertop
tile in our rental. The grout I used was Portland cement and colored
sand. Don't know about yours.

Any acid will react with cement and dissolve it. So, try vinegar and
sponge it on a bit of the unwanted grout.

Sounds like an 8lb sledge is a better tool for this job.

If the tile is horizontal and on a slab, acid. Diluted hydrochloric acid
(vinegar won't do it). Any other situation, maybe acid.
