Default hot air furnace pronlems pilot issues

I have a ComfortMaker natural gas fired hot air unit Model No.
GUF075A012AN
My problem is the pilot will only stay lilt as long as the gas
regulator selector is dpressed as soon as you let up pilot goes out
have held flame on for ten or more minutes without luck?
this is a standard thermocouple unit using a Model 36C03 Type 245
regulator
the thermocouple has been replaced the pilot tubing is clear the
pilot when lit is blue strong and making good contact with the
bthermocouple.

looking for constructive input please

thanks
