Best Driveway Caulk or Patch??
Hello,
My 20+ year old asphalt/tar driveway has 2 large cracks across it. There is one near the beginning of the driveway, and one near the end of the driveway. The cracks are about 5-6 feet long, and about 1/2 inch wide. I really don't know how deep they are, because they are filled with dirt, sand, and debris from the Winter. I know that they sell both "Blacktop Patch", and "Blacktop Caulk". So my question is, which one is better?? I have seen the one by "Quikrete" called "Blacktop Patch", which says it can be used for filling in cracks and holes in asphalt. As far as caulk goes, there is a bunch of different companies that all have "Blacktop Caulk". I have seen the "caulk crack filler" by Quikrete, Dap, GE, Liquid Nails, OSI, Dupont, Henry, and PL Corp. I guess my other question is, who makes the best one? I figure the Dap, GE, Liquid Nails, and Quikrete are the most popular, because they carry those ones everywhere. So, which one should I use, the "Blacktop Patch" or the "Blacktop Caulk", and second are they all the same, or is one brand better than the other, and if so, which brand do you prefer? Any info. and/or opinions would greatly be appreciated!!! Thanks! |

I assume the kind they make for blacktop would be equally easy. Perhaps someone else has experience with other brands. The concrete patch was used with a regular caulking gun. |
