Default Sorta OT re Eye glasses frame

Lots of knowledge - and lots more opinions so...

Just got new glasses. Frames were pretty inexpensive.
Am worried they will corrode turning them and my head green where the
frames touches the temples.
Two options. Get clear heat shrink tubing and use that on the ear
pieces where they touch they temples. But the end of the ear pieces are
fairly wide so I am not sure if I can get tubing onto frame and/or am
afraid that would enough tubing will not shrink enough.
Other option is to use clear nail polish.
Frames are gold color - not even gold plated (AFAIK).
Yes, I am going to Google but figured there will be some replies here
that might have good ideas.
Why did I get such frames? Cost.

TIA

Lou
