front porch steps are crumbing ( cement )
i like to know if its worth repair 2 front steps that are starting, to losing
their cement at the end. our just put a new cement step go up to front of the house, which is four steps. the cement is the original front steps from 1959. any ideals will help. thank you ffoursea |

Can you post pictures somewhere, and post a link to them back here? But speaking in generalities- it depends. If there are just a couple cracks, they do sell patch kits. If the concrete is crumbling all over, and/or tilting funny or pulling away from the house, time to tear it out and start over. Start with yellow pages, look for 'concrete finishing and flatwork'. Most people in that trade are happy to do drivebys and verbal estimates. The demo and removal of the old will cost as much as forming and pouring the new work. -- aem sends... |
