Default Frozen Fridge drain line update

Re the Kenwood top freezer plugged/frozen
defrost drain line. Removed the ice maker and interior
rear and bottom panels. thawed/removed ice at bottom
of coils. Melted/cleared ice from drain line by using a
'turkey baster' squirting/sucking hot water in about
five minutes. Wound about five loops around defrost
heater element with very pliable #12 stranded copper
wire extending the wire about six inches down the
defrost drain. Hopefully the wire will carry enough heat
during the defrost cycle to keep ice from reforming
in the 'neck' of the drain line.

Thanks to those offering suggestions and helpful
ideas.
