Garden Faucet corrosion?
What's the slightly white stuff on the threads of garden faucets,
and the kitchen faucet aerator screw for that matter, that prevents screwing anything on? Calcium deposit? How do you get it off? Vinegar? -- Ron Hardin On the internet, nobody knows you're a jerk. |

Garden Faucet corrosion?
After you have gotten them clean, a dab of faucet/plumber's grease
does wonders. Those steel "toothbrushes" you can get in any good hardware store are especially helpful. Get a bigger hammer.... |

Muriatic acid (HCl) will dissolve the zinc out of the brass faucet alloy. Use good judgement handling such strong acids. Joe |

Just takes a lot longer to dissolve heavy buildups and may have to be replenished with fresh if it quits bubbling. Don Young |
