Default install bamboo tongue and groove flooring as a floating type

Is it possible to install 3' carbonized bamboo flooring without gluing
or nailing to the subfloor? I recently saw an episode on This Old
House where oak planks were installed over a polyurethane vapor barrier
simply by running a bead of wood glue down the tongue and putting it
into the groove. No nails or glue was used to hold the floor down.
They claimed that the floor would then expand and contract as a whole
rather than as individual boards.
I am interested in installing the bamboo flooring on a concrete slab
subfloor that is 50 years old. The adhesive is very messy, hard to
work with and costly! Any information would be appreciated.

Check with the manufacturer. I installed a Mannington engineered wood floor
like that using the proper barrier under it.
