Hotpoint Electric Radiant (Ceramic) Cooktop
Hi all....
I have a 30" free-standing Hotpoint range that is 8 years old. It is a self-clean model and the self clean does not function either. All 4 burners function but today the entire clock mechanism and the oven/broiler no longer function. Anyone have some thoughts if this is an " easy" fix. OR is it worth repairing at all considering it is 8 years old and the kitchen will be remodeled in about 3 months. I'm guessing that it would probably run a minimum of $175. to $200 for a control board/ part and the service call. Thanks for any input. John |

John At that age, cost, and impending remodel, I wouldn't put myself through the bother. If you're not putting built-ins in the new kitchen, I'd go ahead and buy what I planned for in advance. Otherwise, I'd look for other cooking options until the remodel is completed. -- Wayne Boatwright __________________________________________________ Virtue needs some cheaper thrills - Hobbes |

John Hi, I have a 30" free-standing Hotpoint range that is 8 years old Model#? All 4 burners function but today the entire clock mechanism and the oven/broiler no longer function Power to the clock checked with a volt meter and no go = bad clock/control....no power to the clock/control would have to be traced to find where it is lost. kitchen will be remodeled in about 3 months Getting a new range? If yes, might not be worth spending very much o nthe old on if it is being replaced. guessing that it would probably run a minimum of $175. to $200 for a control board/ part and the service call.
