stains on cabinet kitchen......pls help
************************************************** *

We have some very light colored kitchen wooden cabinets with
transparent poly
paint.

We seem to have some stains...the stains are white in color

Are these water stains ?

How does one get rid of these stains ?

Can anyone pls help me ....

Where do I start ? is there a liquid that I can apply that will get
rid of these stains ?

I am not very handy so pls help me.

Thanks

Kim

cleaned it with scrubbing bubbles. Cabinet came out like new.

There are a lot of things it could be. I assume you already tried some
cleaning. I sure hope nobody tried anything harsh like Acetone or cleaners
containing it (some window cleaners do) as it would damage the finish
directly. I wouldn't even use Denatured Alcohol (isopropyl perhaps but no
other kinds).

Look at a light's reflection in the area of the stain. Does it look like it
is on the surface or etched into the clearcoat (presumably polyurethane but
could be other things if it was factory applied).

TSP or similar is often used to degrease cabinets, try a variety of non
abrasive cleaners. Dish detergent may work but don't use anything solvent
based.
