Default SPAM and why do they all seem to use ALL CAPS

Is it because they want it to be easy to spot their SPAM?

For most of the scams they post it should be obvious that they are ignorant
and don't understand proper punctuation.

No. Its because it takes a certain ignorance to even engage in
spamming. These type of people won't comprehend that ALL CAPS is just
stupid. Then again, they are not really targeting you or me.

Of course I got an email from Redhat about a month ago saying
"ACCOUNT WILL BE CANCELED"

Which I was about to delete then went ahead and check and was astonished
these idiots sent a legitimate email with a stupid title like that...

A lot of spam has meaningless numbers at the end of the subject line
too (sometimes with all caps and weird punctuation too). Maybe:

Many, perhaps most, email and newsgroup postings have limited
typographic options -- a single font in a fixed size, no italic, no
boldface. The sender has no control over the end result. Spammers want
to grab attention, and think that using all caps is a way to emphasize
the message.

In my second career as a print graphics designer, I found that most of
my clients who did not have a graphics background liked heavy,
sans-serif typefaces and wanted to use at least six different fonts,
lots of type sizes, plenty of gratuitous italics, and ... you guessed
it ... lots of all-cap headlines and subheads. "For emphasis," they
said.

They ended up emphasizing everything, so the effect was to emphasize
nothing. And of course using all caps often makes headlines, or even a
single word, harder to read. Books and newspapers are not printed in
all caps for this reason.

Part of my job was to dissuade clients from doing this and create
instead an attractive, easy to read design.

....

I have no spam filtering except my own D key -- so I get to
see every one.

Never, I think, have I seen one in all caps.

Not in *my* email, at least.

THUS, I tell people who want to email me, to USE
all caps, so I'll know it's NOT spam.

Strange, this email spamming.
