They pull off the siding. Then I have seen then tack up a shiney board
(not technicial terms - looks like it comes in 4x8 sheets). Then tyvex
wrap the house and put on new siding.


What is that shiney board they put on?

Probably foil faced rigid foam insulation.

But this extra value is based on about 1/2" spacing above it. In theory,
Double Duch siding should provide this, but that 1/2 inch needs top be
sealed. Still, there should be some extra value there.
