1500 sq ft house kids have just bought has a 25 year old standard gas

This is Turtle.

If you live in Canada like your e-mail address implys. Most probley i would
leave the cooling unit alone and just go with furnace. If you don't live in
Canada, Different story.

If you like to discuss it privately. E-mail me and discuss it. There is some
brands that have flaws that could make a difference as to going a head and
change the cooling unit too. Brand and model number condenser would be helpful
to call it. Addy here is good.

Based on the furnace needing replacement and not the cooling system, you
should be okay. The newer cooling stuff needs to be all matched together to
make sure you acheive the proper efficiency.
