OSmetimes, and I habvnt seen this be a problem in a long time -
Try switching the red and green wires in the outlet box. OTOH, if this jjuststarted happening out of the blue, and you havnt touched any wiring - I'd say abad phone. Do all the phones in your house do this? |

Not biting, Ed.
I'm sorry you wont accept my apology; it was offered with sincerity. May I ask that you not follow me around, turning every thread into an attempt at a flame war? Thanks. |

May I ask that you not follow me around, turning every thread into an attempt at a flame war? If you go to a public forum you can't be accused of following anyone around but rather simply reading the posts. Anyway, you've got it. You stay off my back and I'll stay of yours. |

Works for me.
Although I wish you'd accept it; as there are time I need help with appliances and I'd like to feel I could ask you for help. But there's nothing I can do to change your mind; perhaps over time you will see I am sincere and will have a change of heart. Until then, all the best. |

I used to have a modem (300 baud) that wouldn't work in one configuration. the phone wouldn't dial (just as OP says) in the other. I ended up using a "tap the hook" a number of times to dial my access numbers (this was before modes that generated their own tones). it really sucked for 800 numbers... ![]() -- be safe. flip Ich habe keine Ahnung was das bedeutet, oder vielleicht doch?
