Any suggestions how I can drive a 14 ton truck over my septic tank that
was burried to shallow (top is only inches under surface). Tank is
blocking access to my well site and at least one side of the truck
(ie-half the tires) will have to roll over the tank. Tank is a large,
newer cement rectangular tank with 4-6 inches of 18" plastic pip
sticking out for pumping/ servicing.

If it is a big well company, they will have dealt with this before, and
probably have in their yard the timbers, beams, and steel plates to lay out
a temporary bridge over the tank. Unknown factor is the soil characteristics
of your yard- if yard is mushy, spreading the load over a larger area won't
help much. The septic company that set the tank should be able to tell you
the load it is rated for, and also provide suggestions. The well company
will likely want the septic company to mark the corners of the tank and
where the input/output lines and fingers attach. I suspect this will void
the warranty on the tank, if you have one.

Goes without saying, none of this is gonna be cheap. May be cheaper to take
out a tree to make another road, if that is an option.

Well, what does the well company say to do????

And why is the tank too shallow, typically they NEED to be set at the
engineered elevation so that the inleat and outlet are at the right
elevations to flow. What difference would it make if it were a foot
or two deeper, the added soil doesn't make the tank any stronger, it
would not be anywhere near enough depth to make much difference.
