What's a "tear-off" roof?
Never heard of it. Did a google search, but all hits seem to be saying
that a tear-off roof is little more than tar paper. Also, can anyone point me to a good illustration of how ice barriers work? TIA |

This means the old roof must come off before new roof can be installed .Term
often in reference to flat roof(hot-mop tar) or composition shingles-typically 3 layers of composition may be applied before a tear-off and re-roof. Todd |

Todd Thanks, that's very clear. I take it that a new tear-off roof would be a pretty good selling point on an existing home, since the roof could be rebuilt instead of replaced, is that right? |
