Default Hot Water Heater PRV

Recently the pressure release valve on my hot water heater has been
completely draining water. It is not just leaking or driping but just
dumping all water coming in. I would think this would be either the
water is too hot or there is a water pressure issue-- but it has been
the same heater for the last 6 years with no problems. Anyone have
any idea why this would happen now and if there are any remedies to
this problem? I dont think replacing the hot water heater would make
a difference cause the tank itself holds the water without leaking and
it heats just fine.

Any help would be appreciated!

I would simply replace the T&P relief valve. Though you may
want to put a pressure gauge on to be sure there isn't a
hgigh pressure problem (you can connect a suitable gauge to the
drain cock on the heater or to a sill cock outside).
