Default septic system roof pipe odor

Wondering what might be done to eliminate odor coming from roof pipe?
Hopeful for some suggestions.
Thanks
Dee

That is where the smell is supposed to come out, anywhere else is not
acceptable. If you are smelling it, maybe you should add an extension to
make it higher.

Do you think that maybe low pressure or prevailing winds would negate this
idea? That is when it seems to be smelling.
Thanks for your reply.

My husband said he had added an extension, but it was the maximum that he
could add for the sake of stability. However he said that he did order the
charcoal filters.
Thanks again,
Dee

Had this same problem and it turned out that the ignoramus installer
forgot to install the inverts in the first tank. No inverts results in
odor being allowed to vent back up the pipe.

The invert is a section of pipe which is installed on both the incoming
and outgoing pipes which is elbowed down below the level of liquid in
the tank. Acts a lot like a p trap in a drain.

Thanks, Gary, were you able to remedy the problem? Or did you move, or are
you living with it?

They had to pull the cover off the tank and install the inverts. After
pumping it out first, of course. Once installed, no more smell.

My husband will take a look at his notes and perhaps he took a picture of
the last dumping. Thanks for your help. I hope that's it.
