Default hardyboard fasteners?

Hi,

I have never worked with Hardy plank or board siding, but was wondering if I
should use screws or nails to fasten the stuff. I am drilling pilot holes
for either one, and am leaning toward screws, so I don't knock existing
stuff off the walls inside the house, or cause cracks to appear on the
inside drywall...

Any other experiences I need to avoid while working with this stuff?
