Faux or real Wood window blinds?
I am trying to decide between the 2 types for 2 kitchen windows 31x54.
I currently have 1" vinyl blinds on them. The windows are standard double hung and not deep, so will be outside mounted. From what I read, faux wood comes only in 2" width but is heavier than real wood. Real wood comes in 1" width but costs more. Also, the window sill is not very wide, so am not sure if a 2" bottom rail will sit comfortably on it. To install a 2" width blind, I will need to hang them on the outside about 3" out from the wall. But when the blinds hang down, this may mean that the bottom rail may not sit on the window sill. Any ideas here? Should I just go with 1" wood blinds? Do wood blinds tend to warp or crack over time? Thanks Mark Sabatini |
