Default Help: Red wine on white walls!

A guest tripped and as a result we have red wine spots and streaks on
white walls. I experimented on one small spot with cold water, hot
water, soapy water, then a generic spray cleaner...but it remains
visible! Is there a product that will get rid of these stains? And what
kind of store sells it? Thanks.

If wine and paint can conspire against you and be so stubborn, just
show them, who the boss is, around in your house.

call,for immediate relief.

Not exactly getting a lot of good advice.....

Can you paint over it? Last year I covered some stains on a wall
using a combination of paints I had in storage. The wall paint was
somewhat old so it had changed color some, but I was able to mix
up something that matched fairly well. (for now, it will probably
fade differently over the next few years) The other option in painting
is to paint the whole wall, but that would be a lot of work and the
stain might come through if you don't tackle the stain first.

Have you tried using google. When I put in "paint wine stain removal"
(w/o quotes) quite a few sites came up that might be helpful.

Some kinds of stains will bleed through the paint covering them. It
might be a good idea to shellac over the stain before painting. That
will stop any possibility of bleeding.

Hoping to add to the spots and streaks, invite another guest, then
another, then another under the same circumstances. Add written
names and quips under them.
Pretty soon you'll have an abstract wall. After dinner, retire to
this wine room and reminsce over past guests.

I'd paint the wall. If you think it will happen again; paint it an
appropriate color.

I suppose it is too late now but if you had a soda syphon, you should
have been able to jet the whole thing off immediately, it would not
have stained.

You have nothing to lose, but one of those detergent sprays with Ozone
in it or Oxygen and spray it on the affected area, it may still come
out.

Bleach water. Red wine contains organic dyes. Bleach does wonders against
such dyes. Fill a bucket with about 2 quarts of water and add between 1/2
cup to 1 cup bleach. I just do about a 1 second pour. I had the exact same
thing happen awhile ago. My friend tripped and spilled port on my white
wall. A wet sponge didn't do anything, and I figured I'd have to paint over
it. But then I remembered about bleach and used a sponge wet with the
bleach water and it worked wonderfully.
