Default Tenants Sue Over Rental Coupon Scheme

A class-action lawsuit has been filed on behalf of the tenants of San
Francisco's largest apartment development. The suit alleges that the
operator of the 115-acre, 13-tower Villas Parkmerced "routinely
imposes rent increases that violate San Francisco's Rent Control
Ordinance". The plaintiffs want their rents to be restored to their

Why don't we look at the real problem:

"In San Francisco, rents can only legally be raised by 1.7% every lease
term."

Welcome to the Peoples Republic of San Francisco. When you inact
stupid socialist laws, of course property owners are going to do
everything they can to get around them. How long do you think you
could continue to survive as a property owner when your income is
limited to a 1.7% increase? Then, the usual ambulance chasing
attorney's show up to file a class action lawsuit. Who typically
winds up making the money in these class actions settlements? Answer:
The lawyers.
