Default psi drop using water softner

I'm looking at a softner that is rated 24,000 max. It says 25 GMP @ 15
PSI Drop & 32 GPM @ 25 PSI Drop. I do expect a reduction of water
pressure using a softner but wasn't sure if these PSI drops were on the
high side or if it is normal for softners. I don't even know what PSI
I get now coming from city water so don't really know if this reduction
will be noticable.

Thanks for letting me know,
Craig

It is rare to notice any pressure loss after installing a softener.

Those gpm at such'n such PSI numbers tell you the max loss but nothing
else and are actually a bit misleading because although they sound
important they really don't mean much since there's rarely a noticeable
pressure loss anyway but they sound big and important huh?

What is really important is the SFR gpm. They will give you a gpm
number but not what it means. It means the softener won't get all the
hardness out of your water if that gpm is exceeded. If that happens,
then the softener can not remove all the hardness from your water. With
a 24k softener, the SFR to provide a max of 1 gpg of hardness in the
softened water is 6.75 gpm. I suggest you do a search for "softener
sizing chart" with the "" and read up on it.
