Default Vinyl Flooring Best For Pets?

We have animals that spit up, etc. on our carpeting regularly;
therefore, we are planning to replace the carpet throughout our house
with a pet-friendly flooring. Our pets spit up, etc while we are at
work so it is often several hours before the material can be wiped up.
Seems like good-quality sheet vinyl with a wood-grain pattern would be
our best option as ceramic tile or laminate flooring has seams. Seams
would allow the pet spit-up, etc. to soak in the cracks. Any
suggestions or ideas?

There are laminates especially designed for this. I put 600 sqft of
Quik-Step on the main floor of my house for exactly this. It is
completely impervious to everything, including long-term submersion in
water. The seams are water-tight, and even if something has been
sitting there for a day, it wipes right up. A Wet Swiffer takes care of
the residue.

The one drawback (although I like to think of it as a benefit) is that
pet paws get almost no traction on it at all. It's kind of like
watching Wile E. Coyote winding up his legs before he starts running!
It also does make furniture slide easily, which can be good or bad.
Friction rubber feet solve the problem for sofas, and I like that
bookcases can be moved if needed.
