Default Bed Risers

My room is pretty small, and I find myself in need of more space.
Ideally, a loft bed would be excellent for maximizing the total area of
the room, but I can't afford one on a student budget, and I'd be more
comfortable a little closer to the ground. At the local department
store I noticed they sell bed risers, little stubs of plastic meant to
lift one's bed up to 5 inches from the ground. Does anyone know if a
similar product is sold commercially that raises beds higher--say
anywhere between a metre and a metre and a half? Enough for storage
space, but still low enough to literally jump into bed after a long
day. Thanks.

Not many people "literally jump into" a bed 40+ inches above floor level.
An upper bunk beds is usually 50 to 60 inches above the floor.

To fit a student budget, see whether a hammock suits you. (Some
people sleep well in a hammock, others do not.)

Ikea sells lofts that are reasonably priced. (www.ikea.com)

USD 199 for the Tromso loft:
