i hate the look of the stuff. i was wondering
if it would be possible to rough it up to take
away the shine.

Some people on our street have it. She says it's a bitch to clean once it is
scratched.
I agree with you on the look, btw..

Seems like sooner or later they'll market some with the wood-like embossing they
use for vinyl siding.

Yeah, I understand the reasons for vinyl fencing, especially around here with
often-wet ground, but it's a huge practicality vs. looks tradeoff. I'm just
hoping that, since it's catching on, they'll respond to the market by improving
the stuff.
