ups.com... Hey, I am wanting to add some color to my kitchen but I am having trouble deciding on color. Our cabinets are a very dark wood, along with all the trim through out the house. Any suggestions for what color would look good on the cabinets or walls without painting the trim? We went with a brick red upper wall and a green lower wall, and then later on painted the cabinets a medium-light yellow. The once dark wood cabinets now just light up the whole room. You will likely need 3 coats of paint for this, if you go from the dark wood to a light color: one coat of the extra grippy primer (after sanding or it will still peel off if nicked [personal experience here...]) and then 2 coats of the top color using a good quality paint. I left the cabinet insides dark as they were and that darkness provides a nice contrast when open. Tomes |
