"Jim Yanik" . wrote Got news for ya;the typical police response time is such that calling them for home invasion, rape, arson, and the other crimes only means they will get there in time to write an after-action report and watch the coroner haul off your bodies. It's called "Call 911 and Die". -- Jim Yanik But, Jim, this is contrary to all that you have said regarding the evils of vandalism, and the enthusiasm of the police to pursue vandals. Which one is it? Steve Well,I guess you haven't been reading the thread from the beginning,as I advocated videotaping the vandalism for evidence,to show police when they do get there.Police have to either see the vandalism occur,or have clear evidence such as videotape or credible witnesses,in order to legally do anything except talk to the accused vandal. "dial 911 and die" shows that one can be killed or seriously harmed before police have a chance to arrive,so one should be prepared for their own defense. -- Jim Yanik jyanik at kua.net |
