Hi,

I had a situation that required me to remove the housing of an existing
vent fan from first floor bathroom. There is no access other than the
opening of the old fan, but the proper facilties are in place (exhaust
pipe, electrical). I'm looking for recommendations/experiences with
installing a new housing and fan in place of an old one, if possible
without cutting anymore holes in the ceiling. I was looking at
panasonic for replacement (good reputation from what I understand), but
dont see any documented ways of installing in my situation.

large hole, much larger than the fan, in fact all the way over to the
wall if it is nearby (as this will facilitate finishing the new
drywall). Then you will have plenty of room to tear out the old one,
and to hang the new one, and make all the ducting and electrical
connections.

Look at it this way - for any hole you cut up to 4 feet by 8 feet, you
still only have to buy ONE sheet of gypsum board.

I appreciate the response, but I was hoping to avoid cutting a larger
hole than was already there for the existing unit.
